Frequently asked questions

What should I expect from my first appointment?

A detailed assessment will be completed and goals will be set together. This will be a continuation of the telephone consultation along with a physical assessment which would vary from person to person. We are likely to look at your strength, sensation, muscle tone, balance and control of your arms and legs, plus any functional difficulties you are having e.g. going up and down stairs/in and out of a bath/buttering toast.

How many session will I need?

This really varies and can be anything from a single session where exercises and advice are given to sessions on a weekly (or more frequent basis) that could continue for several months.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed, however if you have a recent discharge letter or consultant letter that would be useful for us to see.

What shall I wear?

Please wear something loose fitting and comfortable for your session.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

Yes we do have some scope to see people on weekends and in the evenings. This can be discussed in the free telephone consultation.

Is there a cancellation fee?

Please give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel an appointment. If more than 24 hours notice is given there will be no charge for the cancelled session. We recognise that this is not always possible and this will be discussed with you at the time and the charge is at the discretion of the physiotherapist.

In the case that the physiotherapist needs to cancel an appointment you will be given as much notice as possible and offered an alternative time for your session.

Please reach us at debbiezeun@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
